The West Academic Study Aids Collection provides digital access to hundreds of study aids covering virtually every law school course. You will find case briefs, outlines, overviews, and exam prep titles – including audio, video, and new interactive practice questions.
There are two levels of access to West Academic materials licensed by Tarlton.
If you use the access database link above you will be provided with institutional access. You will see this at the top right corner of your page if you have this established:
There are additional features of the West Academic Study Aids collection that are available if you create a West Academic account using your UT e-mail, including adding your own notes and comments and using materials off-line. Just click “Create an Account” on the top right corner of the page using the following link https://subscription.westacademic.com . If you previously created a West Academic account that is tied to your “utexas” email address, you should be able to sign in to the website with those credentials.
Before you create your personal account make sure to clear your browser cache if you have established institutional access within your current browsing session. You should not see “Hello Unviersity of Texas School of Law Guest” in the upper right. Trying to create a personal account from the institutional page may cause users to encounter errors. To avoid these errors you can open and close all tabs of your browser or clear you cache. Here are some instructions on how to clear the cache from popular browsers:
If you open the app or website and get the following error message, when it worked previously or is a new account, you may need to verify or re-verify (needs to be renewed every 12 months) your account. You can verify your UT e-mail in your account settings, once logged in.

- If your law school library (or organization) provides access, see the FAQ in the page footer. The FAQ tells you how to update the My Account page with your school email address (or the email associated with your
organization). After you follow those steps we'll see you have a subscription and you can read books on this site.
