Tarlton’s Summer Hours

by Dana DeFebbo on 2019-05-08T11:51:00-05:00 | 0 Comments
Due to construction in the Jones Hall atrium, the main/2nd floor entrance of the Tarlton Law Library will be closed beginning Monday, May 20, and continuing throughout the summer. Visitors will be directed to a temporary entrance on the 3rd floor.

The library will be open this summer from 8am – 6pm, Mondays - Fridays.  It will be closed on Saturdays.  Beginning on June 6, and continuing through the end of the Texas Bar Examination on August 1, the Library will also be open Sundays from 9 am - 6 pm in addition to its Monday-Friday hours.  Complete hours information is available on Tarlton’s Hours page.

Tarlton is very happy to welcome recent graduates who wish to use the library as a quiet study space to prepare for their bar examinations this summer.  We will do our very best to minimize the noise and disruption caused by the construction in the law school’s atrium.  However, graduates who are seeking quieter spaces or more extended hours may wish to consider UT’s Perry Castaneda Library (PCL).  During the intersession (May 22 – June 5), PCL is open Mondays – Fridays from 8am – 5pm.  They are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.  (PCL is open on Saturday, May 25, from 9am – 8pm for Commencement).  During the regular summer term (June 6 – August 19), PCL is open Mondays – Thursdays from 7am – midnight, Fridays from 7am – 8pm, Saturdays from 10am – 8pm, and Sundays from 11am – midnight.  Austin Public Library (APL) is another good option for quiet study.  APL’s Central Library is open Sundays from 12pm – 6pm, Mondays – Thursdays from 10am – 9pm, and Fridays – Saturdays from 10am – 6pm.  The hours and information for all of APL’s locations can be found on APL’s website (https://library.austintexas.gov/locations).
