Technology Help

Computer Access in the Library

  • TALLONS, the Library's online catalog - access is available through dedicated stations on every floor of the Library.
  • Laptop use - laptops may be used anywhere in the Library. Many carrels and study tables throughout the Library have electrical outlets.
  • Wireless access is available throughout the Library. UT Austin affiliated patrons should use the "utexas" wireless network with their UT EID and password. 
  • All computer users must adhere to the University's Acceptable Use Policy.

Computer Services for UT Law students

Scanning

The use of scanners in the library is free for students.  There are two KIC book scanners on the library's 2nd floor and one scanner on the 3rd floor near the Computer Lab area.  

Printing

UT law students can print from their laptops to UTPrint printers located on the 2nd floor and on the 3rd floor in the Computer Lab area.  A funded BevoPay account or UT Libraries Print Account are required.  Please contact the Tarlton Tech Desk for assistance.

Viewing and Playback Equipment

The 4th floor Media Collection houses the Law Library's research collections in microform, audio and video cassette, and DVD.

A microform reader/printer/scanner is located on the north wall near the Media Collection.
