Note: When looking for legal information on a particular state, it is always good to run a general search for: (1) the state law library, (2) the state legislature, and (3) the state court or judiciary. The related websites will usually have some useful information and links to other helpful resources.

Each page provides links to that state’s Constitution and Legislation, Judicial Opinions, Regulations and Other Agency Materials, and Additional Collections of State Legal Resources, where available.

- - Thomson FindLaw is a source of online legal information providing a broad collection of case law, related legal information, an online directory of lawyers, and tools that connect lawyers with consumers or businesses seeking legal counsel. Each state has its own page with links to cases, codes, statutes, regulations, and other useful resources.

- - Alphabetical listing of U.S. States and territories provided by the Law Library of Congress. Each name is a portal to a separate page with links to the relevant state or territory Constitution, Executive, Judiciary, Legislature, Legal Guides and Miscellaneous, and General Sources, where available.
- State Court Web Sites
- - Provided through the National Center for State Courts. Provides judicial branch links for each state, focusing on the administrative office of the courts, the court of last resort, any intermediate appellate courts, and each trial court level.
- National Conference of State Legislatures
- - Provides information on current issues affecting state legislatures. Of particular interest are the links to websites found under the legislatures tab, which contains information “gleaned from the home pages and websites of the fifty state legislatures, the District of Columbia and the Territories. You can select to view specific website content materials (such as, bills, press rooms, statutes) from all states, one state or a selected list of states.”
