Cornell Legal Information Institute
- The Legal Information Institute (LII) is a research and electronic publishing activity of the Cornell Law School. “Law about…” articles are available on 130 subjects such as administrative law, children’s rights, international trade, and social security, to name a few. The LII also contains many primary sources of the law such as the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Code, and the Federal Register. A great place to start for research on virtually any legal topic.

- FindLaw has free legal resources available for the public as well as legal professionals and law students.
Library of Congress Guide to Law Online
- The Guide to Law Online, prepared by the U.S. Law Library of Congress Public Services Division, is an annotated guide to sources of information on government and law available online. It includes selected links to useful and reliable sites for legal information.
LexisOne
- Launched by LexisNexis® in July 2000, LexisOne® is designed to meet the demands of solo and small-firm attorneys. Several free resources are available, including case law, forms, and links to state resources. Various paid subscriptions are available.
Public Library of Law
- Holds itself out as “the largest free law library in the world.” A new resource which offers access to cases from the U.S. Supreme Court, Courts of Appeals, and cases from all 50 states back to 1997; federal statutory law and codes from all 50 states; and regulations, court rules, and constitutions. The Public Library of Law also includes free links to paid content on Fastcase.
