



The South Western Reporter, the regional reporter published by West Publishing, covers Texas along with Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. Cases from the Texas Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Texas courts of appeals are published in the South Western Reporter. The South Western Reporter is now in its third series.

Since 1957, the Texas Supreme Court has published the Texas Supreme Court Journal, a weekly publication with orders and decisions announced by the Texas Supreme Court the previous week. The Texas Supreme Court Journal provides access to decisions of the Texas Supreme Court prior to their entry in the South Western Reporter.

The Texas statutes that are currently in force are published in the Texas Codes Annotated and the Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated. Texas is in the process of codifying all of its currently uncodified statutes. Both arrangements contain current law and can be accessed through a single general index to the Texas statutes. The Texas statutes were historically published by Vernons and are often referred to as "Vernons."

The General and Special Laws of the State of Texas is a series of bound volumes containing all of the laws passed during each session of its legislature. The General and Special Laws of the State of Texas is chronologically arranged by order of adoption; a bound volume is published after the end of the session.
