Members of the public may use the computers on the second floor of the Tarlton Law Library that line the walls behind the reference desk, once they have obtained a UT Electronic Identification Number (UT EID). Follow the steps below to gain computer access:
In addition to temporary access through Library computer stations, non-UT affiliated users may choose to purchase wireless access currently available under a pilot project during the Fall 2009 semester. Configure your laptop or other wireless device to connect to the "attwifi" SSID, then follow the instructions on the AT&T Web site.
Copiers are available on every floor of the Library, with the exception of the 6th floor. Follow the links below to maps indicating copier locations. Per page charges are $0.13. All Library copiers accept copy cards only - they do not accept cash. Patrons may purchase a copy card at the card dispenser located on the main floor of the Library using cash only. Copy cards purchased at other locations on the UT campus can also be used in Library copiers. The Library does not have change. Please note the following:
Full-service copying and credit card purchase of copy cards are available from UT Libraries Library Copier Services. More information on Library Copier Services can be found at http://www.lib.utexas.edu/services/copyprint/index.html.
The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies and other reproductions of copyrighted material. Such copies can be made only under certain conditions. One such condition is that the photocopy or reproduction not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." Use of the reproduction may make the user liable for copyright infringement. The Library reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would violate the copyright law.
UT students can print from their laptops to laser printers located next to the circulation desk, in the 4th floor student lounge, in George's Café, and to printers in the Computer Learning Center. Print software and a funded BevoBucks account are required. Contact The Computer Learning Center help desk for assistance.
For all other non-UT Law patrons, a print station using copier cards is available for printing from the public computers located on the 2nd floor near the library catalog kiosks. Per page charges are $0.13. Patrons may purchase a copy card at the card dispenser located on the main floor of the Library using cash only. Copy cards cost $1.00 and are issued without value (value must be added to the card in order to make print or make copies). The Library does not have change. Please note the following:
Printing is available from both microform readers in the Media Center with a copier card. Per page charges are $0.25.
