- The 1st Annual Tarlton Law Library Rare Books Lecture took place Feb. 23, 2004. Professor Michael Hoeflich of the University of Kansas School of Law, one of the few legal historians working in the field of the history of the book, spoke on "Subscription Publishing and the Sale of Law Books in Antebellum America".
