Ferraris' Prompta Bibliotheca : Roman/Canon Law

Lucius Ferraris, a canon lawyer from northern Italy, was a member of the Franciscan Order. He served as the provincial of the Franciscans and was also a counselor for the Holy Office (the Inquisition). The New Catholic Encyclopedia describes the Prompta Bibliotheca as "a veritable encyclopedia of religious knowledge." It was first published in 1746, and was kept updated with numerous subsequent editions, until its last appearance in 1899.
