In addition to commenting on students’ dissertation proposals, she presented two lectures, “Women’s Rights and Culture: Conflicts” and “The Meaning(s) of the Right to Culture in Indigenous Rights Advocacy.” Henry Hu was quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle, May 15, 2003, on the practices associated with Warren Buffett and Charles Munger’s Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meetings relative to the anticipated practices for an upcoming annual meeting of Siebel Systems. Hu was quoted in USA Today, May 14, 2003, on corporate governance aspects of a settlement of a securities fraud lawsuit relating to Hanover Compressor. Hu was quoted in Business Week, May 12, 2003, on how matters relating to the $1.4 billion global settlement relating to Wall Street securities analyst conflicts have served to inform ordinary investors. Hu was quoted in the Washington Post, May 11, 2003, on how to improve executive compensation practices. Hu was quoted in the Toronto Star, May 4, 2003, on whether senior corporate officers have come to terms with fundamental problems in corporate governance. Hu was quoted in the Washington Post, May 4, 2003, on an incentive structure issue associated with the Wall Street global settlement. Hu was quoted in a front page story in the Wall Street Journal, May 2, 2003, on how corporations who inflate their earnings hurt stockholders from a tax standpoint. Brian Leiter was interviewed on CNN’s “Live from the Headlines” on July 9, 2003, about the textbook selection process in Texas. Patrick Woolley presented a paper on “Choice of Law and the Certification of Mass Tort Class Actions Under Rule 23(b)(3)” at a joint meeting of the Civil Procedure and Torts Sections of the Association of American Law Schools, June 18, 2003, in New York City.
